There's a first time

for everything.
I finished my first pair of handknitted socks ever. YAY I'm so proud. They look great and they feel great.
I did frog a couple of times where I had to rip it up, but now they are finished.
Socks are fun to make and I suspect I will get better with practice. I just wish we could have one day with a slightly coler weather so I can wear them, it's a bit to hot to wear socks these days.

Wanna see them ?

Here they are :
What do you think about them ?

The pattern is one you get when signing up for Knit Sock Workshop here
I used Sisu from Sandnesgarn. It's a 80 % wool and 20 % nylon yarn and I knitted the socks on Double Pointed needles size 3 mm.

My next sock project is going to be a colorwork sock from the same class.

Besides knitting and crocheting I've decided to start organizing everything. Starting by making a daily schedule for myself.
Instead of making it with weekdays ,I've decided to make it with numbers from 1 to 7, that way I won't be annoyed if I have to skip a day and spend the next day thinking about all the things from the previous day I didn't get to do.

Back to organizing :
I have been following a blog called The Complete Guide to Imperfect  Homemaking by Kelly ,she has a lot of great tips. You should go check it out :)
One of her blogposts is a series of more posts called "31 days to an organized home". Reading it made me wanna try it out, but in my own extended version which means, that I'm propably going to take a lot longer than 31 days to organize everything, considering my health issues which you can read about here.
I started on day 1 which I'm halfway done with.
So that's it for me today. Time to do some crocheting in fromt of the tv. They are showing "Twilight" which is one of my favorite movies and I mnever get tired of watching it.

Thank you for stopping by and reading.
Please take a moment to like me on Facebook .Thank you very much.

Knitting socks and more

It's actually really fun to knit socks.
My grandmother used to knit socks, but it has actually never caught my attention as in " ohh looks neat I wanna do this to " kinda thing.
At least not until I recently joined Craftsy and looked at a preview on one of their sock knitting classes.

The class can be found here and if you have never knitted socks it's a great place to start.
The class is taught by Donna Druchunas, she is a really good teacher. You should go check out her website.
Speaking of her website.
I was listening to her review of the book "The Sock knitters Handbook" and it really made me want to own that book.
And now I do. Donna had a copy to give away and I was lucky enough to win it! YAY I'm so excited and I am really looking forward to get it and start reading !!
You can buy your own copy here

I haven't really gotten much done the last week or so..I was working on my mums B-day present and I didn't quite get it finished... I still need to do the right front.
My stupid health got in the way which happens frequently. Short story is I have CPS (Chronic Pain Syndrome) and some Psychological issues aswell and they tend to get in the way on regular basis.
This time I have had some very heavy  migraines almost every day combined with swollen joints..very annoying but that's just how it is. A nasty reminder to me, that I have to take regular breaks when crocheting or knitting and remember to adjust the way I sit so it doesn't bother my neck spine.

I was actually going to start participating in W.I.P. which stands for Work In Progress. You can read all about W.I.P. here  and what it is. Well I'm going to put it on hold until next week.

I'm going to finish this post of by showing you a part of my Ladies Lace socks. A pattern you get when signing up for the sock knitting class I linked to .

What do you think about my sock ?

Thank you for reading and commenting :)

Crocheting and then some...

So real life took over and I had a lot of stuff going on. All taking care of and back to the things I love most (besides my kids and my pets).
I have several projects going on both knitting and crocheting. Some of them are just "dying" to get done. You know..assemblied one way or the other ,weaving in ends etc...So that is my goal for tomorrow, after cleaning my ferrets cages ,changing their bedsheets and so on.

I did ,however, take my time to sign up for several online classes at Craftsy .
One of the classes is Tunisian Crochet taught by Jennifer Hansen aka Stitchdiva .

Tunisian crochet is so much fun. Here is a picture of a multicolored spa cloth I made, one of the patterns you get when you sign up for the class..

I got so inspired by that project I decided to make a cardigan for my mother as a birthday present. The pattern for the cardigan is from a book on Tunisian Crochet I bought.
You can buy the book here  and the patterns is called Tranquil Escape.

I am a bit behind schedule though. At least it feels like it. Still need to chrochet a little over 1/2 a cardigan and her b-day is this Thursday.

So far it looks like this
