W.I.P. Wednesday - Progresses

 Yay it's W.I.P. Wednesday once again :)

Besides getting a new phone and spending a lot of hours setting it up with apps and all, I've been working on several projects for the Ravallenic Games.

Remember Pumpkin Pie from last W.I.P. ?

I reached 1/3 and it looks like this now :

I decided that next project should be Roscoff . It's a very fast knit  where the yarn is held double stranded, and it didn't take long to get to 1/3.

Not much to see besides the ribbing :)

After that, I decided to start on Caliente , a seamless bra-top.

First a white version knitted to 1/3.

And then the black version, not quite at 1/3, but getting there.

All patterns are from Army of Knitters

I used Drops Paris for all the projects except the black Caliente. I thought it could be fun trying a different yarn and see how it would look.
I chose to knit it in Drops Cotton Viscose which has a tiny bit of shine to it . Not quite sure I like it yet.

Anyway, that's my W.I.P.'s this week. How about you ?

For more great W.I.P.'s be sure to hop on over to Tami's.

Thanks for stopping by and have a craftsy Wednesday :)

F.O. Friday - Cuddly, snuggly

Been on a picnic with my youngest daughter to a local park. We had a great time and the sun was shining all day.

Of course. No picninc without some crafting and a book to read , while she was playing.

Anyway it's F.O.Friday.
Being busy with The Ravallenics and an event that requires you NOT to finish what you start, I still got to fasten off a few projects.
As I wrote  here , my grandsons birthday was up and I was making presents for him.

First there's one of Freshstitches patterns from her book Crocheted Softies. I love making her patterns.

Meet Hootie The Owl made in Smart from Sandnes.

Then the Sunnyside Cardigan got done. It's hard to see with the yarn I used, but there's cables in the pattern.

That's it from me this friday.
So did you get anything finished this week ?

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

W.I.P. Wednesday - So much to do.

Yesterday my oldest daughter , son-in-law and my grandson came for a visit. They brought souvenirs from their vacation in Bulgaria. I got a lovely new wallet. My daughter remembered that my old one was pretty worn out.

We had a great day together and it was pretty late before they drove home :)

Anyway it's W.I.P. Wednesday.

I've been working on a lot of things.

First there's progress on an owl for my grandson, it's part of his birthday presents. Of course it's another one of Stacey aka Freshstitches patterns.

And a cardigan knitted in one piece. Oh how I love when there's almost no weaving ind ends and sewing together at the end.
And it knits up fast even on small needles :)

It's the Sunnyside Cardigan, a free pattern which you can find here . There's a "girl" version and a more "boyish" version. I used Drops Fabel in a colorway they call Chocolate.

Next I made progress on my Tigerlillies.

I love this one. It's fast, knitted in one piece and you can watch a lot of tele while knitting.

Then there's the Ravallenic games 2012. Remember from my last post here

Well. First I started on the Sunflowers Skirt. It's done by around 35 % . Yarn used is Drops Muskat.

So now it's resting until after the Olympics.

Next I continued with The Sunflowers Cami also in Drops Muskat.

I am having so much fun with this event.

My third Cast On is Pumpkin Pie in Drops Paris.

I'm actually a lot  further than the photo and hope to get to 34 % tonight.

Anyway that's all for this Wednesday. How about you ?

F.O. Friday - Getting ready

Are you participating in the Ravellenic Games 2012 ?
I am, and I'm so excited about it.
I'm in such a cool team. Team AOK and yes we can only knit patterns from Army Of Knitters .
I'm in the Event that's called Cast-On Trap Shoot which is all about casting on lots of projects, but not at the same time. Nope...
You have to cast on one project, knit at least 1/3 of it and then put it on hold , before you cast on another project. Great excuse to start a lot of AOK patterns :D
My plan is to see if I can get least 9 projects to 1/3.
My LYS had a sale and before I knew it *coughs* I bought a LOT of yarn.

Anyway.
Remember the CAL I was in, where I had to crochet a cow ?
I didn't make it in time, the eyes I ordered didn't arrive until the day after the deadline, but they were worth waiting for. They look amazing.

Say hello to the Muumuhs :

I also finished my deer from the Craftsy class, Woodland Animals I'm in.
I think she turned out fine :)

And last but not least.

Remebemr the dress I made for my daughter ?
As promised some photos where you can see it on :)

That's it from me this Friday.

For more awesome F.O.'s be sure to visit Tami

Happy Friday !

W.I.P.Wednesday - So much to do and ..

so little time to do it in.
Anybody else than me, whom wishes for say 48 hours a day?
And I don't even work!
I can't really decide if I should be thankful or not, that the weather is too unstable to do gardening . My grass is growing like crazy and weeds are popping up everywhere, and I can't really do anything about it, but I also would love for the sun to shine more than what seems like only a few minutes everyday.

Anyway this week I have quite a few projects on needles and hooks. I'm trying to clean up my W.I.P.'s before The Ravellenic Games begin. You see, I'm in Team AOK and doing an event called Cast-on Trap Shoot, which basically means, that I'm suppose to start a project, knit 1/3, put it aside and then start over again....
Since I'm in Team AOK (Army Of Knitters), I will only be doing AOK designs..Yippee...And my brain is working on overtime, trying to decide which of Heathers awesome designs to make.
I'm not really that much of a sports junkie, but I'm pretty excited about this event and I can't wait to get started.
Are you participating in this years Ravellenic Games ?

Anyway back to my W.I.P.'s or at least a few of those I need to finish before the games begin.

First there's my Tigerlillies from AOK's KAL. I told you about it here remember ?

Not much progress, but working on it :)

It knits up pretty fast.

I'm also making an owl from Freshstitches book "Crocheted Softies". Hootie The Owl
I'm using a superwash wool "Smart" from Sandnes and crochet hook 4 mm since it's a DK weight yarn.

Last but not least, I'm working on a Cardigan for my mom in Tunisian Crochet. You can see my project page on Ravelry here
I hope I'll get it done before the weekend.Especially since I'm planning to knit something for my grandson (besides Hootie). His birthday is next week.

Anyway that's all for me this Wednesday.

Thanks for stopping by and reading/commenting :)

Be sure to visit Tamis for more awesome W.I.P.'s

W.I.P. Wednesday - Cows and a KAL

I didn't really get around to showing any W.I.P.'s or F.O.'s last week.Sorry about that, but things got a bit crazy here and I had to act fast.
On top of that I had to celebrate my birthday twice so a busy week it was. I got some really great presents though. Among others I got a gift certificate for my local LYS and I immediately started thinking about what I would use it for.
I am down to two choices, both is from Army Of knitters (AOK). I really LOVE Heather Dixon's designs. They are to die for! And I want to make them all.

1. Sunflowers Cami and Sunflowers Skirt

or

2. Waterlillies

What do you think ?

I'm also waiting for the mail to deliver some books. I'm not entirely sure how many books I'll get, but I know that from my wishlist, one is bound to be Fearless Fair Isle Knitting if I get more than one it's going to be one of Staceys books (Freshstitches). Either Crocheted Softies or Cuddly Crochet .If I'm REALLY lucky and get all four books from my list, then the fourth one is going to be Knitting : Color, structure and design .

No matter how many I'll get, I am going to be SO happy when it arrives!

Anyway .Ready to see what I've been up to :

If you have been following my blog, you'll know about my eagerness to participate in Freshstitches Cow- CAL. You can read about it in a previous post here

I'm making a family of 3 cows. Mrs. and Mr. Muumuh and Little Cowey Muumuh. Unfortunately I am propably not going to make the deadline. I decided to order some handpainted eyes from suncatcher , but forgot that the delivery time from US to Denmark varies depending on where items ships from.
Ah well I wasn't in it for the win but for the fun.

My progress so far :

Mrs. Muumuh waiting to be stitched together :

Mr. Muumuh ready to be put together :

And Little Cowey :

Oh wait he's  not done yet .Haven't even started him yet.

Besides crocheting my cows, I've started participating in a KAL as in a Knit Along. I'm a member of the AOK (Army of Knitters) group over at Ravelry.

We are knitting Tigerlillies . I'm using a different yarn than the one the pattern calls for , since it's not available here. I did find a nice substitute : Onion knit : Reiki.

1 skein = 40 to 50 g = 109 yds/100 m. Only handwash/Dry flat.Gauge : 15 sts 20 rows= 10 x 10 cm Knitting needles 5-6Contains 9 different yarns.Fibres : 30 % Polyamide 27% Mohair 20 % Acrylic 12 % Wool 10.5 % Viscose0.5 % CottonMy progress so far :

Oh and last but not least. I've started on my Deer from Staceys class at Craftsy using Marks and kattens Victoria

that's it from me this W.I.P.

W.I.P. Wednesday - Still muuhing

Progress has been very slow on my CAL , 'cause my secret project had a deadline.
Well deadline was yesterday and if you want to know what my secret project was, you can see it here

Back to todays W.I.P' s

I'm going to show 2 of them.

First is my progress on my cow.
I'm planning on doing a family of 3 and Mrs.Muhmuuh is the first . Not finished yet but getting there :

So far I've made the spots, body , legs and arms.

I recently bought Kitty Knits by Donna Druchunas and in my stash I have 4 skeins of Aimee, which can be used for The Peruvian Cat Lace Scarf , so this evening I did the CO and a little bit of the pattern.

I really love Aimee, to bad it's being discontinued. It has 90 % Cotton and 10 % Cashmere and it is soooo soft.

I know I propably shouldn't have started another project, since I'm joining a KAL that starts 1.-7. , but it was too tempting.

If you want to see more awesome W.I.P.'s jump on over to Tami's and check them out :)

Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

The Secret's Out

I was actually going to wait until the next F.O. but decided to post today.

Remember my secret project ? You can read about it here and here .

Well today was the day when the secret got revealed to the recepient., but first some background.
A while back I showed my 16 year old daughter Army Of Knitters website. We were looking at all the fabulous designs when we came across Hattie. And she was all "ohh I want one!" Can you make me one ?
She lives at her dads ,but ever since she saw that dress she's been talking about it everytime she's been for a visit.
So..her graduation day was today and my mom , my 6 year old daughter ,my 23 year old daughter ,my son-in-law, my grandson and me decided she should have that dress as a surprise.
It's not that easy to knit a dress when the one it's for keeps dropping by for a visit on and of and you only have like 14 days to get it done.
And EVERYTIME she asked if I could make it ,while she was here on vacation and I just had to pretend like nothing and say :  yes of course blah blah blah.
Those 14 days quickly went down to around 9 give and take , since I had other things to do aswell.
Anyway she was very happy when she got it :)

I'm going to have her pose in it when she's here on vacation, but until then these will have to do :

I'm very pleased with the outcome , considering it's been a while since I knitted a bigger project and it's my first big project using a US pattern.
Ohh yeah and the fact that I had a deadline.

Thanks for reading and commenting :)

F.O. Nicky Epsteins Winter Roses

This should have been this weeks F.O. but it took longer to finish than expected.

It has been hibernating for a long time and now I finally kicked myself into getting it done.
My selfish project. Yep something entirely made for myself.

It's knitted in Rowans Felted Tweed and to be honest I can't remember what the names of the colors are.
I've used size 6 and 9 mm knitting needles. The scarf part is knitted in 1 strand and the roses, all 21 of them, are knitted with 2 strands of yarn. It's a very fast end easy pattern to follow.

I fell in love with this pattern the first time I saw it in Nicky Epsteins book Signature Scarves

Since it has been hibernating I can't show any in progress pictures and the pictures could have been better, but there's no one around to help taking them.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

W.I.P. Wednesday - Progress and frogs

My teddy bear huggy blanket is still hibernating. At least until I'm done with my big secret project.
Last week I started participating in a CAL started by Stacey also known as Freshstitches. It's no secret I'm a big fan of her patterns, so of course I had to join. The goal is to crochet Jackie the Cow , one of her patterns.
You can read the start of my CAL here.
So far I've only done the body and one leg. Besides the dark pink and the white, I'm going to use a light pink.

Next is my secret project. It's coming along very nicely and I'm very close to finishing it.
I also got to make pleats for the first time when knitting, so you can say that I've learned something new.

Moving on to my frogs.
When I was looking for needles, I discovered that I have at least 3 unfinished projects lying around for myself. One is a scarf from Nicky Epstein's book Signature Scarves. It's almost done so I'm keeping it and will try to get it done in the near future.

The other projects is a dress in drops silke alpaca  , both knitted and crocheted,  and a jacket made in fabel.
I'm going to frog both these since I'm in the middle of both and my tension and gauge has changed since I started them. Yeah they have been lying around for a long time.

I'm not sure if I'll do the jacket again what do you think ?

I'm propably going to start over with the dress. The yarn is discontinued and I bought it especially for that dress.

Well enough rambling from me this sunny Wednesday.

F.O.Friday - Long long ago...

Once upon a time I used to only knit after danish patterns....
Then...
I discoverd US and UK patterns and a whole new World of knitting opened up.
So one of the unfinished things I had laying around was a cardigan I made for my daughter. It has been waiting for me to finish it for quite some time, and since I'm pretty busy with my secret project I thought that this cardigan should be this weeks F.O.
I only needed to attach buttons and sew some ends in. I'm not really that pleased with the finished piece , but my daughter loves it :)

Oh yeah and when I looked at some of the tails they were very short..and I was like ..WHAT!! I never have that short tails .......When I took a closer look it was obvious to me what had happened.

You see...I have 2 cats....One of them is a Maine Coon, he never ever touches my knitting or crocheting projects or my yarn or anything else that has to do with knitting or crocheting...except...if he feels overlooked  or if he's mad at me or just plain an eye for an eye like.."you scolded me ,now I am getting even...."

His the MASTER..at least he tries to be haha.

So..back to my F.O.

Tadaaaa

I used the original yarn from the pattern. The pattern can be found here  ( US version)

Drops BabyAlpacaSilk :  70 % Alpaca and 30 % Silk.
Circular needles size 3 1/2 and 4 1/2
Coconut buttons.

Have a great and productive weekend for more awesome F.O.'s be sure to visit Tami's
